TALKING TO THE RIVER
I’d call out to the ocean
But I’m just too far away
I’d howl at the moon
But the words won’t find their way
I’d turn the hourglass upside down
Just to have my way
They it’s part of some big plan my life has yet to play
Still it’s unfair
I was talking to the river,
“Won’t you help me find my way?
Why’d you take this child from me
Leave me helpless standing here?”
Yeah, I’m talking to the river
“Won’t you help me find my way”
Why’d you take this child from me’leave me helpless standing here?
Oh,……… I wish it would rain…….
The rumbling of the sky is teasing me again
As if it’s announcing itself just like some long lost friend
The emotion seems familiar but one I’ve never known
And deep inside this hollow place I know that I should own it
Still it’s unclear
I was talking to the river,
“Won’t you help me find my way?
Why’d you take this child from me
Leave me helpless standing here?”
Yeah, I’m talking to the river
“Won’t you help me find my way?
Why’d you take this child from me
Leave me helpless standing here?”
And every now and then I know it’s for the best
Still I wish this life of mine didn’t have so many tests!
Still I’m talking to the river,
“Won’t you help me find my way?
Why’d you take this child from me
Leave me helpless standing here?”
Yeah, I’m talking to the river
“Won’t you help me find my way”
Why’d you take this child from me,
Leave me helpless standing here?
Oh,……… I wish it would rain…….
Please let it rain.
